Kay Simmeth

Kay has been working as a psychotherapist and life coach for over 20 years with an underlying belief that people have the ability to move toward wholeness and well-being.
She began in private practice in 1993, and since that time has worked with adults, adolescents, children, parents and families. Over the years Kay has worked with people struggling with a variety of challenges from anxiety and trauma—both big and small–to peak performance which is being one’s best self. She also worked in a variety of settings from community clinics to psychiatric hospitals, which have strengthened and broadened her as a psychotherapist and counselor.

While working with EMDR therapy over the last 10 years Kay has seen significant results in clients dealing with anxiety, trauma and other issues that hold them back from life success. She is a certified EMDR practitioner and approved EMDR consultant, and all members of her team are trained in EMDR therapy as well. Because of the success she has seen in clients using this method of therapy, Kay whole-heartedly pursues continuing education and consultation in this area.  She is an active member of EMDRIA and one of the founders of EMDR Connect, a community of EMDR clinicians in the Los Angeles area.

Kay thoroughly enjoys her work and finds it a privilege to come alongside her clients to work together with them to overcome life’s roadblocks, and to see them live more fulfilling lives.

Amy Burdick

Amy is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and has experience working with anxiety, depression, grief/loss, and life-transition issues. She specializes in working with adolescent girls and trauma. In her practice, Amy is committed to creating a welcoming space where she can partner with individuals, families and couples to move out of pain and conflict and toward a life of fullness and strength.

Amy says working with others to help them find happiness, healing and hope is rewarding. “There are so few people in this world that we allow into our stuff,” she says. “So to be invited into those places that are dark or difficult or even feel unwanted by others… it’s a sacred experience.” Participating in the transformation of a person’s life is also a privilege. “When someone comes to a place of health, it’s amazing how that influences the lives around them,” says Amy.

As an EMDR trained therapist, Amy has seen how EMDR therapy can help people move through emotional blocks. She also values the way EMDR merges the experiential with a structure by which progress can be observed. “Sometimes the idea of therapy can feel abstract,” she says. “When we feel stuck or scared or confused the EMDR process helps us see we actually have an end goal and how we can get there. That’s encouraging!”

Jana Galambos

Jana has an MS in Marital and Family Therapy and is currently working towards completing her hours for licensure. She has experience working with depression, anxiety, issues of self-worth, life transitions, grief, and pre-marital counseling. Prior to beginning her graduate studies, Jana provided direct care and supervision for troubled adolescent girls at a therapeutic boarding school. Jana particularly enjoys working with young adults and adolescents.

Jana recognizes that therapy can be an uncomfortable and intimidating process so she is committed to creating a place of safety and rest for her clients. She believes in the context of a safe and caring relationship, clients can find the courage to explore the deep places of pain contributing to their current struggles. For her, nothing is more exciting or humbling than to partner with clients on a journey towards hope and healing.

Jana has completed her level 1 EMDR training. She is excited to incorporate this therapy into her practice and assist clients in accessing and healing parts of the brain that cannot be accessed through traditional therapy.
