Struggling with Anxiety
Is life difficult or overwhelming? Stress, worry and depression can take away your hope and energy. Negative thoughts and anxiety can keep you stuck and prevent you from living a successful and happy life.
Are you tired of trying to manage these difficulties on your own? You don’t have to. We can work together to help you identify and challenge detrimental thoughts and feelings and help you move to a place of well-being and confidence. It is possible to move forward and live a fulfilling life!
I incorporate the most effective and efficient methods like EMDR Therapy to heal the symptoms of trauma or disturbances that keep you from living a fulfilling life.
- Are you stressed and irritable?
- Overwhelmed with worry and fear about your life?
- Have you tried to solve these issues with traditional talk therapy but not been successful?
Often people want to try EMDR because they have found that more traditional therapies haven’t been productive in helping them overcome their fears and depression. With EMDR we can identify and work toward changing limiting beliefs that keep you stuck.

What is EMDR?
EMDR is a remarkably effective therapy approach used to overcome the emotionally painful effects of trauma and a wide range of other emotional conditions. EMDR integrates many of the successful elements of a range of therapeutic approaches that helps people to make lasting changes to overcome the impact of trauma. It has been extensively researched, and a 2004 the Dept. of Veteran’s Affairs and Department of Defense determined that it was an effective treatment for trauma.
Originally skeptical of the effectiveness of EMDR, I was invited to observe a session by a colleague and was inspired by the results of this therapy. Excited by that experience, I went on to become EMDR trained and certified in order to help my clients overcome the disturbing and upsetting events in their lives. Many have experienced relief from symptoms and have seen dramatic improvements in the quality of their lives. While EMDR has proven particularly effective for the treatment of trauma, it has been used successfully to help people overcome other challenges as well.

How EMDR has helped my clients
Here are two of my client’s stories (told with their permission) of how EMDR was effective in their lives:
|R, a 30-year-old woman, was experiencing difficulties at work. When confronted by others, she experienced flashes of rage, which was limiting her ability to be successful at her job. Through looking at the current situation we identified an earlier memory that occurred when she was 6-years old. In this memory she was bullied on the playground at school and left with the belief that she wasn’t safe. Whenever she felt unsafe in her current situation, she would react as if she were being bullied instead of merely confronted. Through processing this memory with EMDR, her belief about herself shifted, as she realized that she was safe and could react appropriately to the situation.|
|A, a 52-year-old woman came in because she was having panic attacks related to an upcoming surgery. We worked through her fears regarding the surgery through processing this future event with EMDR. While processing, she was able to connect her emotions, the feelings she held in her body and her negative belief that “I’m all alone, and no one cares.” By looking at this future event we were able to identify the negative belief that was fueling her fear and process it with bilateral stimulation so that she was able to successfully undergo her surgery.|
